War of Warcraft
Gold Secrets: What to Look for in the Auction House and
Trade Channel
The economy in World of Warcraft is similar as
it is to real life economies. It’s all about supply and
demand. In order to make gold in WoW, you need to access
the limited supplies and sell them when there is a need
for them. Every server is different, so you can’t always
go by general War of Warcraft auction house guides.
Essentially, the economy of any server works like
this: the larger the need for an item, the more its value
will increase. Green items will always be needed more than
gray; blue items will always be needed more than green; etc.
And then there are the gathering items that need to be used
in recipes: metals, plants, shards, glitter, cloth, skins,
etc. These items will always be in demand. However, the
supply almost always meets the demand, so sometimes the
price goes down.
Buyers are willing to pay extra when the demand is
higher. You need to always be on the lookout for the
shortages of the items you can easily attain. For instance,
if your profession is herbalism, you should always keep an
eye out the plants for which there is a low supply and high
demand. Plants that have very low stock at the War of
Warcraft AH are the ones you need to farm. You will be able
to sell them for a pretty high price.
One good strategy is to stock up on a variety of
items and check the AH regularly to study the competition
and rates. Whenever nobody else is selling some of the
items, you can put them up for sell at a premium price.
Another method is to buy high demand items when they are set
at a price lower than average, and then resell them later on
for more gold.
If you need quick gold and don’t mind other
players negotiating the price, then you could sell in the
trade channel. Also, if you are selling items you make
yourself, i.e. enchantments, weapons, armor, robes, then you
can offer your services through the trade channel in War of
Warcraft.
Another way to take advantage of the trade channel
is to buy items yourself whenever you can negotiate a good
deal. You can then save the items and sell them at the
auction house later on when the price goes up. Sometimes,
when an item isn’t well known, the player will be clueless
and sell it for practically nothing just to get rid of it.
Keep an eye out for these kinds of
players.
Another type of player is one that purposely sells
items at a cheap price just to get rid of them! This type of
War of Warcraft seller isn’t desperate for gold and is only
selling the item because they don’t have enough room for it.
You’ll be surprised at the number of people who do
this.
It’s not all that hard to make a lot of gold if
you know what to look for. Become acquainted with which
items are in high demand on your server. Don’t be afraid to
spend a bit of gold on high-demand items when they are being
sold at a low price. Just wait around for awhile, and the
supply will go down again. Then you will be able to resell
the items for a lot more gold in War of
Warcraft!
